My daughter is a constant muse and following a conversation with a friend today, about what our lives have become now that we are mothers, I feel more inspired than ever to combine my passions and make the most of them. I’ve been so determined to keep the two separate, to give each my undivided attention instead of blurring the lines and working while I’m with Elsie or trying to Elsie when I work. If you know what I mean. As cliche as it sounds, I am first and foremost a mother. Elsie is my priority and my purpose yet it’s also important to note that photography gives me an appetite for life and direction…therefore the two go hand in hand. I work late in to the night after she has gone to bed so I can see the smiles on other people’s faces when I hand back their images, but I also do it so I can keep a roof over her head and cat leggings on her legs. There are so many moments I enjoy with her that I keep just for me, and others where I can’t quite seem to put my camera down. Worth a little blog post me thinks.
