Bhavika and Sam are due to be married this July and were keen to include a pre wed shoot in their package which always makes me so happy. It might sound a bit over the top to some but the more time I get to spend with my couples ahead of the big day, the happier I am. My absolute favourite part of the job is getting to know people and it’s such a huge part of what I do and the photos that I take. Together with these two, we decided on Rutland engagement photos, making the most of the local scenery around Rutland Water and also planning it to run before and after dark.
There is always a little room for nerves at the start of a shoot but I normally just act like an idiot and talk my way through it in order to relax people and it was no time at all before Bhav and Sam found their stride. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel when people choose me to photograph their wedding and with these guys it’s no exception. I am genuinely excited to be spending that time with them, would happily go out for dinner with the pair of them and easily have one too many wines in their company.
Their wedding is going to be such a fast paced affair with two ceremonies, a lot of people and a whole heap of partying so it was really nice to slow it down, take our time and really get up close and personal. More often than not, an engagement shoot is more time spent with your photographer than you will actually get with them on your wedding day so it’s a great opportunity to muck about, see what works and what everyone is comfortable with. It’s just as important for people to be comfortable enough to laugh their butts off in front of the camera as it is to get close to each other and these two rocked at both. The three of us can now be sure that on the big day, with all the time constraints, we will get exactly what is needed…and I can’t bloody wait!
