Kathryn & Tom were married in a not so intimate ceremony at The William Cecil in Stamford. In fact the co-ordinator told them they needed to stop inviting people because they’d already reached capacity! There was a joke about their guest list in the speeches and every seat was filled and snug…but despite all that, it felt like every person there was so darn happy for the two of them that had one person not turned up it would have been less than perfect. The groom is an up and coming, hilarious English comedian so it was no wonder that his beautiful bride had a smile on her face all day long. Laughter is at the heart of their relationship and laughter was at the heart of their wedding. The best man was a comedy writer who didn’t fail to deliver and with Jack Whitehall amongst the guests it felt like a day that not only the bride & groom would never forget…but a pretty memorable one for this little photographer too. Here are the best bits.
Do you remember what summer looked like? It was warm and bright and full of smiles…yup, that’s the one. At least it was for me anyway. And during the summer I had the opportunity to meet more than one gorgeous family that succeeded in brightening my days further. Here are just a few of my favourite moments.
Sharing a love of gin is a pretty good starting point for any relationship and that is one of the things that make this one so great. By the time a wedding comes around I’ve spent enough time with the couple and exchanged enough communication that the bride and groom feel more like friends than clients which is just the way it should be. Then there are weddings that go beyond that, there are weddings that are so much fun they don’t feel like work at all and by the end of it I feel like I’ve attended a bloody good event and I don’t want to go home. I’ve met people I could easily share a few drinks with, heard songs I’d love to get up a dance to and taken photos that I hope really reflect the day for those involved. Eleanor & Stuart’s English Country wedding at The William Cecil in Stamford, Lincolnshire, was one such wedding which makes it very very hard to choose just a few photos to share with you…so I didn’t. I chose a lot. The bride made the cake, the groom did up the old bike (amongst many other things) and they sent me thank you gin…need I say more?
Back in the summer on a unsurprisingly rainy week day evening I met up in some woodland (as you do) to take a few pictures with Jenny & Callum in the Lincolnshire countryside. Turns out the light through the trees was something pretty special after the torrential rain of the afternoon and so we used it to isolate the two of them within the bubble of their engagement. Hope you enjoy some of the results…
