Adele and Paul are regulars at Glastonbury and knew exactly what they wanted from their day. Their hearts were set on a tipi festival wedding and what they pulled together was exactly that! After getting engaged in Sydney back in 2017 they started planning every little detail (with the help of their family) and ended up with the sort of wedding I completely love to shoot. KellyFest was an absolute blast.

When I arrived, there were about twenty people in one hotel room and I knew from the off that this day was going to be non stop high energy and I wasn’t wrong. I wasn’t even surprised to learn that Paul had bought flares instead of smoke bombs for their groups photos, in the end it suited them perfectly!

Here’s a little about what the couple had to say about the day…

After a few days on google searching for Tipi companies, ‘Country Tipis‘ had some great reviews. We were actually living in Australia at the time of booking, so we never got to see the venue. My family went to see it on our behalf and said it was perfect – thankfully they were right and we loved it, Vanstone Garden Centre was the perfect setting.

The hardest thing was agreeing to the New York Brass Band, haha! It was the only request Paul made during the whole planning process and desperately wanted them to play as we see them every time we go to Glasto and knew they would be a great addition to the wedding.”

It’s always amazing to know that a couple who put so much of themselves in to the day got so much out of it and that they wouldn’t change a thing. This was one of my favourite weddings from 2018, I’m only sad I missed the very end!

We just love how relaxed the whole day was ….and of course surprising everyone with the ‘New York Brass Band’.  No one knew they were booked and some people actually thought they turned up to the wrong wedding reception as we already had our Irish band ‘Contrabad’ playing. They walked into the venue from the carpark playing “Sweet dream are made of this” by the Eurythmics and brought the party outside. We had an arrangement with the two bands that they would play opposite each other once the NYBB played their opening set but our highlight was when the two bands then collaborated at the end of the night to do an Oasis number, I still get goosebumps watching it back now.”

They had a little something to say about working with me too!

Lizzie was amazing!! From the moment we first spoke, right until the last picture was taken! She was professional, knew how to work the camera and how to capture the most beautiful shots. We had a lot of guests so it was great that Lizzie was firm and to the point, making sure people listened to her but also her bubbly personality added to our day to make it even more special. It was perfect – thank you xx
